Tim Wylie, Ampcontrol's Principal Engineer discussed inadvertent compromise of protection systems essential to safe provision of electrical energy via I-T networks in hazardous environments at the 21st Electrical Engineering Safety Seminar (EESS) in Sydney.

Pitfalls associated with the application of accepted EMC techniques for VVVF drives in a mining environment were discussed with reference to underground measurement data and observations.
